Every day. As soon as the new Wordle puzzle answer is confirmed, it’s added to our archive, typically before 3 AM ET.
Can I use past answers as guesses in Wordle?
Yes. Wordle accepts any valid five-letter English word as a guess, including words that have already been answers. The curated answer list only controls which word is chosen as the daily solution.
Has the answer list changed since the NYT acquisition?
Yes. The New York Times removed several words deemed offensive or too obscure after acquiring Wordle in early 2022, and has occasionally added new words. The archive reflects the actual answers that appeared each day.
How many Wordle answers are there in total?
The original curated list contained 2,309 words. With daily puzzles running since June 2021, over 1,900 unique answers have been used. The NYT has begun repeating some early answers as the list is exhausted.
